The world of tennis is filled with dreams and aspirations, and for talented young players, American universities can be the ideal springboard to achieve their goals. Today, we highlight two former clients who sought our expertise in university recruitment and are now professional players on the ATP Tour circuit.
Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen pursued their passion for tennis while pursuing their studies in the United States on athletic scholarships. Their inspiring journey has led them to the final of Roland Garros, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world. Discover how their collaboration with our company has contributed to shaping their success on and off the courts.
Sander Gille, hailing from Kuringen, Belgium, joined East Tennessee State University on an athletic scholarship after completing his secondary education at Humanidra Kindsheid Jesu High School. During his university journey, Sander demonstrated exceptional determination and talent. As a student-athlete, he compiled an impressive record of 16 wins and 12 losses in singles during the 2010-2011 season, with a notable performance of winning the conference championship against opponents ranked among the best Americans. His on-court successes earned him the title of Conference Player of the Year and a place in the All-Conference team of the Atlantic Sun.
After successfully completing his university studies, Sander Gille embarked on a professional tennis career. His dedication and talent led him to the final of Roland Garros this year, an extraordinary achievement that testifies to his ascent in the world of professional tennis. As a student-athlete recruitment company, we are proud to have contributed to Sander Gille’s success by helping him find an American university that nurtured his talent and prepared him for a promising future.
Joran Vliegen, originally from Maaseik, Belgium, also found his path to success through our collaboration in university recruitment. During his time at East Carolina University, Joran was an exceptional player and left his mark on college tennis. He was voted Conference Player of the Year in 2010 and won the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Carolina Region Championship. These impressive accomplishments were the result of his hard work and commitment as a student-athlete.
After brilliantly completing his university studies, Joran Vliegen continued his career on the professional tennis circuit. He became the first player in the history of his university to participate in the NCAA National Championships in singles and won the Carolina Region title in singles. His impressive ranking in the top 30 of worldwide tennis players attests to his talent and determination.
The journeys of Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen, which began with their university studies in the United States, are true inspiring stories. Their success in the world of professional tennis is the result of their hard work, natural talent, and the opportunity given to them to develop their skills while pursuing their studies.
As a university recruitment company, we are proud to play a role in realizing these dreams. We congratulate Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen on their remarkable journeys and their qualification for the final of Roland Garros.
